Online marketing newbies are so busy selling products/services to their customers, so focused on making a few pennies here and there, not realizing that they are dealing with people and these are the creatures with feelings, that they can be a powerful and impressive ambassadors of yours.

This sales approach (which is undoubtedly necessary) is sure to work in the short term. It may be that one can even get a good start-up income, but will eventually lose it to the competition, as one has not only failed to get their ‘attention’, but failed to generate the kind of attention, interest, trust and confidence that needed. These are the same people who once paid attention to you, will eventually stop responding. Once this happens, you will have no choice but to put all your time and money into ‘generating’ new customers, as you are constantly losing an existing one.

If one is even a little sensible, understands the trick of the trade, trust me, you will have much more worthwhile things to do, instead of spending all your precious time and hard-earned money constantly generating a new database.

In any business, we keep getting new customers. When one gets it, it is suggested not to go out of your way to sell alone, because if you constantly contact people with sales related emails, you will lose more people than you will retain. Many indulge and have failed in this approach and by any chance if this has been someone’s way of doing business then for sure they need to stop it here and now. This specific methodology has been tested by many marketers for far too long and believe me, it doesn’t work anymore. There is awareness and people these days just don’t like it.

Yes, since you are the owner of your business, you can always tell people how great you are or you can always tell them what a wonderful product you are selling etc. Share your customer success story with other customers too. Let there be value in your content. They may or may not believe you, they may or may not buy from you. But if someone totally unrelated to you gives you the go-ahead… that’s a very powerful thing.

Once you start building your database, you want to make sure you spend some time connecting with those people. Emailing them AT LEAST once a week, making them feel wanted, valued and loved, sharing (free content) some of the tips, help, advice, etc., are the activities one should do with all their heart.
