Not surprisingly, the so-called Big Three of the US auto industry, made up of General Motors, Ford Motor and Daimler Chrysler, are fighting with all their guns blazing for the crown of the King of Detroit Hill. . The multibillion-dollar auto industry is virtually ready now, as younger, more innovative automakers pose a considerable threat to traditionally respectable automakers’ market share.

In the auto industry, a car manufacturer is considered to have arrived if its featured models have landed at the Detroit Auto Show. Your car is probably on List D if it hasn’t already. The annual Detroit Auto Show is where the crème de la crème of the latest car models makes its way. The 2007 edition of the fair becomes even more promising with the presentation of the boastful Jaguar XF of the subsidiary of Ford.

In order to maintain Jaguar’s competitive edge, the XF will replace the S-Type saloon. The Jaguar folks commissioned Fuore Design International to take care of the aesthetics and ergonomics of the XF10. The resulting XF10, industry observers say, is a visual feast complemented by additional luxurious Jaguar parts. Inspired by Jaguar’s campaign on the Formula One and Grand Prix race tracks, the sleek Jaguar XF10 is made in part from the materials that create legends: speed and beauty.

The Jaguar XF10 boasts a slimmer, meaner look than the retro-pastiche S-Type. With this build, the XF10 is intended to be a performance sedan, and a potential 5 Series rival, rather than a luxury and comfort cruiser.

The technical aspect of F1 and Grand Prix racing found its way into the Jaguar XF10’s lightweight steel exterior and was accentuated through what the car sports under its bonnet. The Jaguar XF10’s two-door beast-of-prey looks are probably enough to command respect on the streets, and even more so if the vaunted upgrade on the already mighty Jaguar S-Type proves accurate.

Behind the name, the “X” serves as a tribute to the legendary Coventry two-seaters that cruised the world’s most beautiful boulevards in the 1950s. The “F”, on the other hand, represents the birth of the idea behind this concept car. : Formula One. And the number 10 refers to the car’s 10 cylinders, the engine configuration common to Formula One.

Incidentally, the scheduled launch of the Jaguar XF10 comes on the heels of the tribute display honoring 1955 Le Mans Jaguar D-Type winners Mike Hawthorn and Ivor Bueb at Hatfields Jaguar in Mexborough, Yorkshire. Fifty years after his F1 success, celebrated Jaguar of Mexborough-born F1 World Champion Hawthorn serves as a flashpoint for the up-and-coming XF10.

This new Jaguar flagship car will make its debut on January 1. 12 at the Detroit Auto Show. So early, it’s being touted as the next big thing to come out of Jaguar’s impressive stable. Whether the XF10 will surpass the success of the D-Type on the race track remains to be seen. But while the auto industry is hoping for that, it’s reassuring that Jaguar is making an effort to make its future as glorious as its past.
