From being a luxury that dated back to the seventies, mobile phones (cell phones for some) have become a necessity at a time when communication seemed man’s main gadget in his day to day.

However, the problem lies when the phone becomes useless because it cannot make or receive any calls or send or receive text messages due to poor reception in places commonly known as “dead spots”. A dead spot is a place where the signal goes crazy.

Frustrating is perhaps the best word to describe when we simply can’t make any calls or send a message through the short message system, no matter how we position ourselves or the phone itself.

What causes deadlocks?

Sometimes the weak signal can be attributed to the mobile phone unit itself. There are instances and places where even the best portable devices can’t seem to work because the area itself is a “dead spot.”

However, there are areas where reception difficulty is simply due to a weak or poor signal, causing phone conversations to be “choppy”, blurry, or sometimes dropped calls. It also causes delays in sending and receiving text messages.

Among the places where the signal is at “zero” or too weak are the bases, inside an elevator car, in a valley, in a closed facility, remote areas, among other places where there are so many barriers.

False promises

There have been a number of suggestions on how to deal with the problem of poor signal reception. There have also been a lot of wise guesses as to why it is happening. Aside from the network provider itself (network providers often set up a cell site to boost signal in a given area), none of them seemed to be able to provide a real, long-term solution.

In one case, a private entity came up with the idea for “wonderful stickers” that they claim would help improve signal when placed on the phone. These “wonderful stickers” failed to impress the market, however, as they didn’t do much to improve reception.

Excited for new promises

The “groovy stickers” eventually went down the drain, as consumers finally realized that buying one of these would be a waste of money.

Now comes Vodafone, which claims to have tested and proven that its “wonder box” is capable of improving mobile phone signals even in areas considered to be dead spots. Known as the “Access Gateway”, his new device looked more like a small box, which could be used as a mobile phone antenna.

Starting

How is it used? Simple. Connect using the broadband port and check your mobile phone signal. You’ll be amazed at what it does, no matter where you are. What makes this gadget amazing is that it is very handy and compatible even with any mobile phone. Accessing 3G phones is also incredibly easy.

Their marketing portfolio also claims that using “Access Gateway” also allows long battery life for their mobile phone units. This marvelous device, which promises to be the definitive solution to the perennial reception problem even in black or dead spots, is already on the market. GP
