“I used my highly rational mind as a tool to illustrate how the world was no longer rational.” – Jesse Bogner

Born on September 17, 1987, in New York, New Jersey, Jesse Bogner was one of three children that his mother, Dawn Neway, and father, Seth Bogner, had been blessed with. While his mother has always been an independent, nature-loving and compassionate person, his father turns out to be a cheerful and jovial thinker who has a joke for life despite his strong sense of spirituality. Until his mid-twenties, all Jesse cared about was hanging out with his friends on the streets of New York, abusing substances, and getting pleasure from breaking the rules. All of this came to a sudden stop in 2013.

It’s hard to pinpoint exactly what triggered this change, but it produced a version of Jesse that no one had ever seen before. From a decadent and aimless young man who revealed himself in anarchy, he was transformed into an introspective individual with a marked propensity for spiritualism. It was as if someone had cast a spell over the turbulent and violent waters and left them totally calm and controlled. Not long after, Jesse left the streets of New York and his wild lifestyle for the calmer climate of a Kabbalah group (Bnei Baruch) in Israel, which gave him the opportunity to connect with the essence of him and explore his intellect.

Driven by a desire to stir the intellectual broth that seemed to be simmering around the world, Jesse became something he never dreamed of becoming: an author. But surely that must have been his calling because at the age of thirty he is already a renowned author of two celebrated works of calligraphy, with a third awaiting release. That his books are published, recognized and accepted in a few years is an achievement that few authors around the world can boast of, and Jesse is one of them.

At the Kabbalah Center – From Social Rebel to Social Thinker

Kabbalah has its origin in the Hebrew word ‘lekabel’, which means to receive. It is a set of teachings that define the way of life of its followers, in terms of discipline, morality and spiritism. According to legend, God endowed the Israelites with the Kabbalah at the same time He gave them the Old Testament on Mount Sinai. Therefore, it could best be described as an amalgamation of ancient wisdom, mysticism that springs from the aura of prophecy that surrounds you, and spiritualism that gives meaning to every aspect of your life.

Given the strong spiritual teachings this Kabbalah group provides to help people improve their existence, it is a natural magnet for people from all over the world and welcomes visitors from all walks of life, from Hollywood celebrities to curious tourists and everyone else. At the annual World Kabbalah Convention in New Jersey in 2013, one of the participants was Jesse Bogner, an American who had come in search of his spiritual identity and to define his existence. Such was the impact of this age-old philosophy that it transformed Jesse from a social anarchist to an intellectual who suddenly became aware of social issues.

It was when he joined this Kabbalah group that Jesse became an author, his writings serving as an outlet for his perceptions of the society that existed around him. As he climbed the spiritual ladder, Jesse became aware of multiple issues affecting people on both a personal and community level, and decided to make this his point of focus.

Calligraphy – Reflections that move the soul

Since his arrival at the Kabbalah Center, Jesse Bogner has successfully published two novels, namely ‘The Egoist’, which was released in 2014, and ‘Tikkunim (Corrections)’, which was published in 2017. Currently, this young author is in the process of finishing his third novel, namely ‘The Doors of Impurity’, which will probably be published soon.

While the first book, The Egotist, follows Jesse from New York to the Bnei Baruch Kabbalah group in Petach Tikvah, Israel, his second effort, Tikkunim (Corrections), is an attempt to express his thoughts in a way that people from any corner of the world must be able to understand. Unlike the first book, which is more narrative, Tikkunim (Corrections) is a compilation of articles, each providing insight into Jesse’s thought process and conveying Jesse’s message.

The third literary work, namely ‘The Gates of Impurity’, could be described as belonging to the genre of spiritual fiction or magical realism as it traces Abba’s life from his youth to his journey into adulthood and beyond. Along the way, he experiences everything from lust and greed to betrayal, love, and finally power. He is also a dedicated Kabbalist, which makes the character of him all the more interesting due to a good amount of spiritualism that influences the fight for survival in real life.

final thoughts

Yet he remains strangely aloof from his success, as if it were a transitory aspect of life that should never be taken seriously. This is Jesse Bogner for you in a nutshell: aloof, introspective, and always pushing his personal creativity to formulate innovative solutions for society at large.

No matter how depressed you are in life, there is always a spiritual opening that will lead you to your true destiny. Through his directness, Jesse Bogner has shown that spirituality and truth can never be overlooked: they always prevail, even if people don’t take the time to acknowledge and acknowledge them.
