If you are a fan of Billie Eilish, I cannot see you disappointed with the recent documentary called The world is a little blurry. Far from being blurry, this film takes a very deep and personal look at Billie’s life during the formative years of the young star’s life.

The camera takes us behind the scenes to his brother’s bedroom and gives us an intimate insight into the process of recording the songs and the act of their creation and inspiration. We see Billie and Finneas running through lines and rehearsing lyrics and creating the very words that will become a finished song. This look at artistic endeavor is invaluable and allows us as an audience to have a very personal look at composers’ creative process that we simply wouldn’t get otherwise. It was personally gratifying to me, as a creative person, to see how easy and with practice the lines that have become famous in songs were born and created for the first time. I have to say that this behind-the-scenes look at the creative process was one of the best parts of the documentary for me.

We see Billie’s family up close and personal, and we meet a mother who hangs around and is an intimate part of everything Billie does and is a part of. His mother is present as he creates songs, eats, travels the world, and is there before and after his stage appearances. We see very clearly in this movie that Billie is not going to allow herself the “luxury” of drug or alcohol abuse like the closeness of her mother and father in everything that she simply will not allow to happen.

For his fans who have deep knowledge of his music and great appreciation for his songs, they will be impressed with the number of songs shown in this movie and his live appearances at concerts. What I found disturbing were Billie’s injuries and the toll that dancing on stage takes on her fragile body. Her heart was in her throat when the movie captured Billie suffering a broken ankle in one of her performances and then returning to the stage to sing while sitting. What really impressed me was the energy that Billie puts into her performances and her desire to put on a great show every time for her fans.

As we watch Billie and listen to her, we come to the understanding that Billie truly loves her fans and wants only the best for them, whether it’s putting on the best show or meeting them face to face and touching and hugging them. lucky few. Billie doesn’t want to be a distant star who can’t be up close and personal to her fans and we came to appreciate that in this poignant look at the star and her makeup.
