Is there such a thing as truly useless garbage? I think not, particularly in light of the wealth of information on how to reuse things of little value. Things that most people underestimate, for example, glass, wood, wood pulp, paper, used rubber tires and in the scope of this article. I suppose it really is a case of one man’s trash being another man’s treasure. As it turns out, this treasure trove, in this case used coffee grounds, may have more than one use, in fact I can list 15 uses at this point.

1.Insect control
Insect control: There is currently a meme online that spraying used coffee grounds on plants and skin will repel mosquitoes, particularly those that carry the Zika virus. In fact, there is no scientific literature to demonstrate this, although there is some research evidence that spraying coffee and used coffee grounds on mosquito breeding grounds inhibited mosquito larval embryogenesis and thus reduced significantly the number of mosquito larvae that successfully matured into adults

2. Fertilizer
For plants that like acid soil, such as hydrangeas, rhododendrons, camellias, roses, blueberries, magnolias, etc. Used coffee grounds can serve as a source of excellent fertilizer. Some flowers will even change color depending on the pH level of the surrounding soil, so turn your hydrangea flower blue with used coffee grounds!

3. Growing carrots and radishes
Carrots and radishes work great with used coffee grounds. Sprinkling the latter over the former before planting will help the little seedlings grow faster and provide an extra boost when they’re just germinating, you’re sure to get a higher yield as a result. A literal example of reaping what you sow!

4. Growing your own mushrooms
