My favorite thing to do in World of Warcraft is PvP. I am addicted to PvP. I am always on the battlefields killing. I play both horde and alliance, just not on the same server. When you’re doing player versus player, there are several things that come into the picture. Things like what class to play, how to play that specific class, what specialization in that class is needed, etc.

I’ll start with the warrior class. The role of a warrior has changed from Burning Crusades to The Wrath Of The Lich King. In the BC, warrior was one of the best kill classes you could go with, which is why you see so many of them running around now. Though their numbers are dwindling, they are still a force to be reckoned with despite no longer being an assassin class. They are one of the best pressure classes in the game. The best PvP spec is any one of them. As a tank you get stuns, as a rage you can carry two two handed weapons so you hit like a freight train, as weapons you use bleeds which is one of your greatest abilities. your greatest skill is your postures

Next up is the rogue class. Rogues rely on stealth to survive. Your biggest enemy is another melee class. Your job is to sneak in and literally wreak havoc on healers and other wizards. Your specification will be murder or a mixture of murder and subtlety. Rogues are one of the most feared classes in the game. Paladins have a unique ability to become immune to all damage through a spell. But this bubble (as it’s called in-game) is your greatest ability, though a warrior can take it out with his devastating throw. Your specification will be sacred or retribution. Holy is a healer, payback is dps, your job is to kill or heal. Retribution paladins are currently one of the three most powerful classes awaiting a nerf in patch 3.3. Don’t be afraid to heal yourself and others, it will help you as a team.

Shamans, your PvP spec will be Elemental or Restoration. You are a caster class, your job as an elemental is simple, kill everything. As restoration you heal everything. Upgrading is a waste of time in PvP. Your greatest ability is your totems; well-placed totems can cause your opponents great frustration. Don’t be afraid to heal yourself and others, it will help you as a team.

Druids are the most versatile class in the game. All of your specs are good for PvP. Your greatest ability is your shapeshifting. Your job is to kill or heal. Wild combat druids are one of the three most powerful classes; expect a nerf in patch 3.3. Don’t be afraid to heal yourself and others, it will help you as a team. Oh death knight, you have two nice dirty specs for PvP. Frost and unholy are brutal. Your job is simply to kill. Your greatest ability is your mastery of death. Death knights are one of the three most powerful classes; expect a nerf in patch 3.3. Unholy can have a pet if specified in it.

Priests have two specializations that are good for PvP, Discipline and Shadow. Discipline is a heal/kill type of spec, although I consider it more of a protection spec, but you can still kill. Shadow is a caster spec that uses damage over time spells known as kill points. Your Power Word Shield is your greatest spell. If the shadow specs aren’t afraid to heal themselves and others, it will help them as a team.

Warlocks have only one purpose, to kill and they do it very well. As a warlock, you have two specializations: affliction and destruction. As an affliction you kill through points, it’s a very stable dps spec. As destruction you get the ability to do burst damage which means a lot of damage very fast, you also use points and direct damage abilities like Chaos Bolt. Your greatest ability is your fear spell. Use your demons to help you.

The hunter is a ranged dps that deals physical damage. They are unique in that they are the only ranged class that can do so. You are a killer class. Your biggest skill is your traps. Your specialization will determine how you play, all three specs are good, but if you’re a marksman, you need to be very skilled to live long enough. You also have a pet that helps you live and kill.

Last but not least, mages, Frost will be your spec, though you can go arcane. The only problem with Arcane is that it requires you to stand still, which is not a good idea in PvP. Frost is an explosive damage specialization. Your greatest ability is your polymorphism.
