World of Warcraft’s newest expansion, Wrath of the Lich King, revolves around the Alliance and Horde uniting to defeat the evil Scourge and the Lich King himself by traveling to the desolate continent of Northrend and coming face to face with the dark forces. One would expect many wars and battles to break out across Northrend before the final showdown, which is against the Dark One on his Frozen Throne. The pinnacle of the game would be Icecrown Citadel, where the Lich King and his Undead Army reside. Players around the world are very excited to test their mettle against the deadly wrath of the Lich King, and since this is the final dungeon or raid instance of the game, one should expect it to be epic. Although the dungeon will not be released until various game patches are added, there has already been information about the dungeon that we already know about. Also, it is better to know the history of the battlefield because it might give you an advantage during the final battle.

Infamy

Icecrown Citadel is located on the largest and most impressive glacier in Azeroth, known as Icecrown Glacier. Had it not been for the events that occurred on the glacier, he would have remained in the dark. However, due to the many major history-altering events that occurred there, the glacier will always be infamous. It is here that Kil’jaeden himself cast the Lich King. His ice throne crashed into the glacier and there he remained imprisoned until Arthas freed him and they became a single entity. Thus, the glacier became the home of the Scourge. The citadel itself lies at the bottom of the fissure or crevasse formed by the Lich King’s fall into the glacier.

Dungeon details:

The final boss of this dungeon will be the Lich King himself. To get to it, up to 25 level 80 players would have to traverse legions of the undead, from wraiths to zombies to pure beings of dark energy. The Glacier itself has no other inhabitants except the Scourge, so expect plenty of fights and mob kills before you get to the boss. Icecrown Citadel will be at the bottom of the glacier, so it will also be in the fight path, so you better be smart about how you use your abilities and how you pace yourself. There is still no idea if the Lich King can be defeated or not. According to the creators, the dungeon will not be available until better patches are ready. Even if you have to wait a long time to play this dungeon, it will definitely be worth it. Just the fact that you were able to get to the Citadel will be remarkable, with all the enemies in your way.
