When painting a room in your house, there is a chance that you will land in a sacred space in the room. In fact, whatever you do lands in a space of awareness. That is why I am very particular with whom I work with in my house, as the person can leave a trace in the room and this trace can remain long after the person is gone. Some impressions are stronger than others depending on the task. Painting walls in particular can leave an imprint on the room for a long time because the paint is wet and the energy of the person applying it dries on the paint. This is one of the reasons I choose to paint with lazure for my home and clients, as the very application of lazure fosters a metaphysical awareness.
Not all lazure painting is the same, it depends on what the lazure artist brings to the process. It depends on how much silence a person can bear. If you have a background of meditation or prayer, you can penetrate this into the space as you paint. When you apply the glaze to walls in lazure, it’s very different than faux painting where you take an area of a wall and paint in sections.
The application of lazure has a certain fluidity and is based on a holy symbol. It’s best done with two or more people, which helps create a sacred space while the paint is being applied. There is a leader and a follower. In a way, this creates a yin and yang dynamic when painting a room. The bible indicates that where there are two or more people in prayer, Christ will be there and I feel that it shows when painting with this wonderful method if you use this intention. Part of the idea is to get into the specific sacred rhythm of the lazure painting method. I personally move towards the sacred symbol and in a sense I become the symbol. If he’s so inclined, then he’ll also love learning to slack off.
It has been my experience as a lazure artist to see many homes transformed, that the rooms feel as if they are nurturing those in the room. They not only look beautiful, but they really feel different. Your walls can shine with a certain radiance of beauty that cannot be achieved with any other painting method.
