RoomBreak: Get away now!! by gameday

RoomBreak: Get away now!! is a powerful room escape game for iPhone/iPod/iPad. It consists of 5 episodes, each with 5 rooms, for a total of 25 challenging rooms to escape. Gameday even promises that a sixth episode is coming soon.

RoomBreak is quite a challenging game for the genre. One could even say that it is a hardcore game. What makes it different from the others is that there is an escape meter for each room. If you are the type of person who likes to relax and take your time to explore a room and solve the puzzles, this can be a very frustrating game for you. You will likely have to replay most rooms at least once before completing them, as it is very difficult to discover everything before the timer runs out. There are also some mini-games involved, which get progressively more difficult as you progress. The two games are connected with the knife and the hammer. Using the knife requires you to watch a sequence of slashes that flash on the screen. Then you have to copy them in the correct order for the knife to work. The hammer is even more challenging as it requires you to tap on circles as little yellow rings appear on them. It’s a bit like that old school game called Simon. It gets quite difficult in the fourth episode and can be incredibly frustrating to complete. However, if you’re someone who likes these kinds of challenges, or can forgive them, you’re in for a great experience.

It’s easy to tell that a lot of love went into making this game. The 2D graphics are reminiscent of a graphic novel, all beautifully drawn. The music is also well done, with plenty of variety from room to room. The puzzles are challenging and will leave you stumped at times. But this means that you will not finish the game in one day. There are hours of gameplay here.

If you have any problems, here are some tips:

1. For the knife tool, write down the direction of the arrows so you don’t forget them. You can try as many teeth as you want, because the escape meter is not affected while you have a puzzle open.

2. For the hammer, you must touch each circle when the yellow ring hits it. The game is very unforgiving, so you have to be exact. In episodes 4 and 5, I don’t recommend playing while half asleep, as the puzzle gets pretty elaborate. Again, just like the knife, you can keep trying until you get it without having to worry about the escape meter.

I hope that helps you. Good luck escaping!
