This collection of romantic stories has racy sex scenes and adult-appropriate language. It is very well written in a light hearted way with happily ever after endings. I don’t usually read romance stories so this was a new experience for me. I was looking for something to read for Halloween and came across this collection of short reads on Kindle.

I tried to research the author hoping she had more stories, but all I found was that she is a recluse and little is known about her. On the other hand, she said that she is writing and posting very fast, so surely there will be more of her very soon. Now let’s talk about the stories and what I liked and didn’t like.

The first of the three stories is “You Don’t Know Jack”. It is based on Sleepy Hollow and the legends of the Headless Horseman. This is a great twist set in modern times with a young woman who is adventurous and willing to try anything, including going to the Catskill Mountains and her boss’s weird but sexy house for a Halloween party.

There are some great sex scenes in all three stories, but the one in this story is my favorite. I don’t want to spoil it, so I’ll just say that if you like reading about how to make love in unusual circumstances, it’s worth a read. This was my second favorite story out of the three and I would easily give it four and a half stars out of five. The only character I didn’t like was Butch and I wish she would have gone to the party without him. If you read the story, you may or may not agree.

The second story is about a ghoul and is appropriately titled, “Big Ghouls Don’t Cry”. I think this was the story that went the furthest, but it was still believable. It had the most supernatural elements and a great love story that made me feel really good at the end. But like all three stories, this love story is about a love that seems impossible, but somehow works.

The final story, “Every Witch Way,” was actually my favorite. Mrs. Simcocks knows how to come up with quirky and adorable characters, and her witches are the best example. The heroine of the story is a nice young woman who has had a hard time and has lost the love of her life, Randy. A chance encounter with a suspicious fortune teller causes her to break a date with her new love and head to the graveyard on Halloween night in her old wedding dress that she never got to wear.

She has a heart of gold, but it gets her in trouble and she loses the only chance she’ll ever have to be with Randy. Then a drunken witch (my favorite character) gets involved and it’s a wild ride (literally) on a broomstick to save a relationship that has outlived the grave. She would give the story five stars.

It deserves to be a full novel and I hope the author considers writing one before next Halloween. In general, I highly recommend the book.
